True storytelling - Unlikely Friendships

It’s tempting to think there are rules about friendships. That our best friends should be our age, share our politics, binge-watch the same shows, be on good terms with our partners…

But what of those friends who don’t fit the mould? Those from unfamiliar backgrounds, those 30 years older than we are, or those on the other side of the world. What about the friends we seemingly have nothing in common with, yet would trust with our deepest secrets? Dwindling romances can turn into lasting friendships. Our parents can become our best mates.
